Documents to have ready
Skip any group that doesn’t apply to you.
Your home and other properties
- Mortgage statement - a recent one for each property, showing the amount outstanding
- Property valuation - any obtained in the last six months
Bank and savings accounts
- 12 months of statements - for every bank, building society or NS&I account, including any closed during that period
Pensions
- Cash equivalent (CEV/CETV) statement - from each pension provider, or a copy of the letter requesting one

Employment income
- P60 - for the last financial year
- Last three payslips
- P11D - your most recent, if your employer provides benefits or expenses
Self-employment or business interests
- Business accounts - for the last two financial years
- Proof of tax liability - a letter from your accountant, or a copy of your last tax assessment
Investments and savings
- Latest statements - for each ISA, share holding, bond or unit trust
- Surrender valuation - for any life insurance or endowment policies
